As a kid my ball-room dancing family called me ‘The fairy elephant’ because I never managed, or perhaps enjoyed, the seemly ball-room dancing that came so naturally to the remainder of them. Instead I was cursed to sit on the sidelines watching the others with their posh hair-styles and pretty clothing. Then a new ‘other-half’ introduced me to his mates and – horrors – they were all line dancers!

I attempted in vain to sit on the sidelines, but they were all enthusiastic dancers and determined I should share in the ‘fun’. As a grown up, these memories fade into insignificance, but I was always left with the imprecise feeling that I must avoid dancing eventualities where-ever practical. You can begin by learning easy dances in only 1 evening. Much of the time they are using line dancing as bait. It is an opportunity for the men in the bunch to have a look at her with no need to see thru a host of folk on the floor. There’s another sort of cowgirl who loves the country line dance : the ‘up stager’.

Ever notice how simple it is to keep an eye fixed on a single person during country line dances? Ladies that customarily mix into the ocean of folks can all of a sudden be spotted. Keeps you inspired. She already has every person in the place dribbling all over her but it is not enough. Practice though not required, you’ll find your dancing will improve significantly if you practice at home using either step sheets and / or a DVD as printed above. All you really need is around ten minutes practice, 2 or 3 times per week. And if you can find more time, particularly at the beginning, you’ll definitely notice a difference. What a bonus! Once more the line dance CD will be useful. When you get the wobble dance down and feel relaxed, then you are able to add your own style, anything goes so long as you finish up on the right beat going in the correct direction. Six. And if not, just turn around. Now just start the entire sequence all over again.

Just make absolutely sure you are turning making a square. The girls would add miniskirts, tights, and boots to their ‘look’ and the men would all wear jeans and massive belts, boots, and hats. The blouses of the ladies and the shirts of the men would all be the same. All of them looked just great and awfully pro. A large amount of instances when they performed, they would pack a foldable wooden floor with them as it was very unlikely to dance on grass or asphalt parking lots.
